Seggauer Castle Matinees - "Violinissimo"

For the Seggau Castle Matinee, Benjamin Schmid presents a varied and very personal program – featuring works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, whose music has always been a defining focus of his repertoire. Schmid has received numerous awards for his interpretations of Mozart: he was honored with the prestigious Carl Flesch Mozart Prize in London (along with the Beethoven and Audience Prize), is a multiple Echo Klassik Award winner, and also an Opus Klassik Award winner. He has also been repeatedly recognized for his Mozart performances in the Swiss Radio SFR's interpreter comparison. In addition to Mozart, works by Niccolò Paganini, the legendary "Devil's Violinist," the stylistically influential violin virtuoso Fritz Kreisler, as well as pieces by Schmid's congenial stage partner, bassist Georg Breinschmid, will be performed.
