Hiking and binding herb bundles for the Assumption of Mary

The Feast of the Assumption of Mary, or popularly known as the Assumption of Mary, is still celebrated in many Catholic communities here in the "Madonna Land" on August 15th, and was particularly a holiday in the Eastern Church. The large number of Marian feasts is an expression of the church's grateful appreciation for Mary. The Cistercian Order worked in Bronnbach for over 650 years and had a special relationship with the Mother of God, which is why the monastery church in Bronnbach is dedicated to Mary. The thematic tour/herb walk – depending on the weather – embarks on a quest to uncover the evidence of deep Marian devotion and explains the significance and origins of the Feast of the Assumption. Additionally, during a short hike, various medicinal herbs will be collected for a "Würzbüschel" (herb bundle), and information will be provided on the use and significance of these herbs. At the end, the collected herbs will be tied together into what is called a Würzbüschel or herb bundle. Please bring: binding twine and, if available, garden scissors, as well as plants from your surroundings (such as mullein, yarrow, wormwood, mint, sage, arnica, chamomile, basil, plantain, but also roses, lilies, and various types of grains). Other herbs whose properties you have discovered for yourself can also be added on-site.
