Experiencing chamber music—that is the goal of the course through which Jeunesses Musicales attracts young musicians from Germany and other European countries to Weikersheim every year. Experiencing chamber music—that is the goal of the course through which Jeunesses Musicales attracts young musicians from Germany and other European countries to Weikersheim every year. As part of the “Chamber Music Course for Young Instrumentalists,” the young musicians have the opportunity to work on chamber music pieces in a wide variety of ensembles with highly qualified instructors. Thus, individual string players, woodwind players, horn players, and pianists aged 14 to 21 come together in Weikersheim to make music in diverse ensembles. Many of the young people are national prize winners from the “Jugend musiziert” competition. Through intensive full-day rehearsals and individual lessons, participants can expand their musical skills and, above all, experience and enjoy the joy of making music together. In the process, friendships blossom from initial musical encounters, and moving music emerges from newly explored works! The results of this work culminate in the music festival at Bronnbach Abbey and in approximately four hours of music, ranging from Bach to Shostakovich to Piazzolla.
