Experience more about the Schwetzinger Hardt on this cycling tour and discover what makes this habitat so unique. The Schwetzinger Hardt is a forest area located between Schwetzingen, Walldorf, and Hockenheim. It is the largest regional forest conservation area in Baden-Württemberg. What makes it particularly special is the meeting of rare, glacial inland dunes with nutrient-poor sandy soils. On this tour through the Schwetzinger Hardt, we will encounter unique habitats. Specialists of fauna and flora inhabit the flying sand dune, which we will encounter in Sandhausen and Oftersheim. Additionally, the deadwood in the protected forest serves as a habitat for countless species. Both are currently being "artificially" managed with great effort. You can expect a tour with few elevation changes and many exciting insights into this significant nature conservation area and recreational area of the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region.
