It was considered unsinkable. On April 10, 1912, the RMS Titanic set sail from Southampton on its maiden voyage across the Atlantic to New York. Over 2,000 people were on board – along with their hopes, longings, wishes, and dreams. On the night of April 14 to 15, the ship sank within three hours after colliding with an iceberg.
