Special tour of the Knitting Museum: "Three Decades of Fashion"

Free public tour of the Knitting Museum. Julia Brockmann guides visitors through the special exhibition "Three Decades of Fashion" marking the 30th anniversary of the Knitting Museum. The Knitting Museum in Albstadt-Tailfingen shows the history of the knitting industry in the Albstadt area from 1750 to the present day. The topics range from rural self-sufficiency to early industrial production, from industrialization and women's home-based work to modern production. On display are, among other things, equipment for flax processing and hosiery production, hand-knitting chairs, circular knitting machines and knitting machines, textiles – especially knitwear – from 1880 to the present day, sewing tables, machines and equipment from almost all areas of production, such as winding, finishing and cutting.
