On the Trail of Rarities - Guided Tour through the Sauener Poplar Mother Garden

In the heart of the Sauener Forest lies the so-called Poplar Mother Garden. Here, in the 1960s, forest master Heinrich Bier planted rare tree species, some of which can still be admired today. On a three-and-a-half-hour tour with Norman Heß, the certified nature and landscape guide, participants will experience these rare trees with all their senses and learn more about this hidden area in the Sauener Forest. The meeting point is on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at the forestry office of the August Bier Foundation in Sauen, Rietz-Neuendorf. The event starts at 2 PM. Sturdy footwear and long clothing (tick and mosquito protection) are recommended. The paths are not accessible for people with disabilities (partly rough terrain).
