Dr. Ernst Michaelis: Praised, longed for, persecuted, murdered - a Jewish pediatrician in Nowawes.

Accompanying event of the exhibition: "Stumbling Stones in Babelsberg." Without a multitude of Jewish doctors, there would have been only a rudimentary healthcare system in the "poverty city" of Nowawes. A Berlin doctor, who lived in Neubabelsberg since 1919 and practiced in Nowawes, was often the last hope for many malnourished and sick children in Red Nowawes. After 1933, he was marginalized and died in the Theresienstadt concentration camp. In a lecture on the occasion of an upcoming stumbling stone laying on April 18, Uwe Klett from the Historical Workshop Red Nowawes would like to outline a biographical sketch of the pediatrician.
