The village church of Kolkwitz invites you to a concert featuring the ensemble "TOP Leipzig." "TOP" stands for trumpets, organ, and timpani. Works by Charpentier, Bach, Handel, Telemann, and Mendelssohn-Bartholdy will be performed, among others. The ensemble consists of the excellent musicians Bernd Bartels and Alexander Pfeifer (trumpet), Frank Zimpel (organ), and Daniel Schäbe (timpani), all of whom have received awards at the Bach Competition and have performed as soloists with the Halle Philharmonic, the Dresden State Orchestra, the State Theatre of Saxony, the Leipzig Radio Symphony Orchestra, the MDR Symphony Orchestra, the Robert Schumann Philharmonic Chemnitz, and have collaborated with various chamber orchestras and leading ensembles across Germany. The ensemble "TOP Leipzig" has been performing for over 20 years. The four musicians have since played well over 350 concerts together. Alexander Pfeifer and Frank Zimpel also perform as "Duo Presto Leipzig," which was established a bit earlier and has led both musicians to over 1,000 guest performances beyond Germany, including Austria, Italy, the Czech Republic, Egypt, Russia, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Poland, the USA, and Canada. Six CD recordings document the diverse work of the musicians.
