Franziska Zänker - CUT & PASTE

The exhibition CUT & PASTE showcases works that all share one common element – the cut. Whether as a contour, line, or intersection, the cutting edge becomes a boundary where something changes. Objects are developed from the cut surface into the spatial dimension. Surfaces and graphics emerge through the insertion and layering of materials. The play with layers and structures, glimpses, subtle colors, and motifs is an inexhaustible source of fascination for Franziska Zänker. In the exhibition, the spaces – broadly inspired by the Rheinsberg Castle – are thematically engaged with paper and wooden objects. Franziska Zänker was born in 1976 in Halle/Saale. She trained as a carpenter and then studied wood design at the University of Applied Arts in Schneeberg (Saxony). She is a graduate designer and a trained art therapist.
