The MINSK Art House in Potsdam will present the exhibition "Residential Complex: Art and Life in the Prefabricated Building" in autumn 2025. Guest curator Kito Nedo will explore how East German prefabricated housing estates are addressed in art. Around 50 works by artists such as Karl-Heinz Adler, Sibylle Bergemann, Henrike Naumann, Sabine Moritz, and Ruth Wolf-Rehfeldt depict the prefabricated building as a place of residence, a symbol of social utopias, and a reflection of societal changes. The exhibition will feature installations, paintings, drawings, photographs, and films from the 1970s to the present day. The prefabricated building is not only the focus as an architectural heritage but also as a cultural resonance space that raises questions of belonging, community, and memory. The exhibition connects art and society and demonstrates how urban spaces shape life concepts. "Residential Complex" opens new perspectives on a building and living model that continues to have an impact today. For more information: MINSK Art House website in Potsdam.
