On June 22, the German invasion of the Soviet Union will mark its 84th anniversary. On this occasion, we turn our attention to the fate of Soviet prisoners of war in Salzgitter. The High Command of the Wehrmacht viewed Soviet prisoners of war as a potential threat even after their capture. For this reason, the prisoners were systematically under-supplied and died in large numbers, especially in the first months. But what was the situation like in Salzgitter?
