In her deeply affecting piece, Sivan Ben Yishai writes a multi-voiced lament about love and violence that does not make it easy for itself or for us for a single second: The story of Medusa is one of the first prominent chapters in a millennia-old tradition. A story of perpetrator-victim reversal and victim blaming, a story of sexual violence and assault, a story of love and romance that turns into humiliation and hatred.

In a breathless, lyrical language, the author describes a patriarchal system in which we are all both perpetrators and victims at the same time. Can we break free from our bodily prisons and start over, going back through history?
