The Great Bustard - Excursion

An impressive natural spectacle awaits you! Join our ranger on this tour to see the heaviest flying bird in the world and experience an unforgettable morning! In the easternmost part of the national park, the Hanság, a remarkable natural display takes place in spring. Here, in the meadows between the villages of Andau and Tadten, you can observe the Great Bustard during its courtship ritual. The otherwise well-camouflaged males, which are over a meter tall and weigh around 16 kg, suddenly shine white in the landscape to impress the females.

The tour takes place in all weather conditions. The national park reserves the right to adapt the content of the tour flexibly to the respective weather conditions.

Meeting point: Municipal Office Tadten. From here, points along the dam road between Andau and Tadten will be accessed by car. A personal vehicle is not strictly necessary.
