As part of the Quarter Festival Weinviertel, the vacant building complex of the former youth correctional facility in Kirchberg am Wagram will be transformed into a temporary production site for artistic research, collective processes, and design. The focus is on questions of rules and spaces: Who establishes them, who can change them, and what emerges when they are rethought together?
The site is open to visitors and offers a diverse cultural program featuring concerts, readings, and exhibitions. Even on quiet days, the open garden with a garden bar serves as a social meeting point, inviting neighbors, visitors, and artists to linger and connect.
The history of the place serves as the starting point for artistic reflections on control, participation, and community. In a four-week program, invited artists will explore these themes playfully, politically, and joyfully. Under the title YACHTCLUB, an open art space will be created that questions, transforms, and invites exchange on existing structures.
