Peat bog experience tour with the rail cart through the Great Uchter Moor

Spring, Summer, Autumn – Experience the Moor Experience the Great Uchter Moor from spring until the end of October on a scenic ride through a unique natural landscape. Enjoy a journey of approximately two and a half hours on our field railway through the 3,263-hectare nature reserve and get to know the moor from a completely different perspective. Learn more about the oldest bog body in Northern Germany, our Moora, at the information center, and immerse yourself in the world of peat cutters. Scheduled Railway Ride – Nature Experience in the Great Uchter Moor Experience the Great Uchter Moor on a special field railway ride and discover one of the most fascinating moor landscapes in Northern Germany. Enjoy a journey of about two and a half hours with family and friends through the 3,263-hectare nature reserve and see the moor from a whole new perspective. Riding the Railway through the Moor Step aboard our railway and let yourself be guided through expansive moor areas, renaturalized water bodies, and pristine nature. Along the way, both young and old will learn exciting facts about moors, peat, plants, animals, and the important conservation of this unique landscape. Starting Point & Timetable The starting and ending point is the information center "Gateway to the Moor" in the Diepenau district of Essern. Scheduled rides take place on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays at 2:00 PM. You can purchase your tickets directly on-site at the information center.
