The nature around Zierenberg has much to offer. In this series of excursions, a different route with its botanical highlights is explored each month. Hidden deep in the forest behind the Helfensteine is a small forest lake – the Hanges or Hangarstein Lake. The former basalt quarry is an enchanted place known to only a few, characterized by basalt rocks, sword lilies, water buttercups, and a tranquility that invites you to pause or meditate.
