On the Linz Local Railway (LILO), the Vorchdorferbahn, and the Traunseetram, all friends of local railway nostalgia will be offered trains featuring true "gems" from the first half of the 20th century.

This event is the perfect opportunity to spend two days in Upper Austria, immerse yourself in the past, and experience rare historical vehicles up close. Whether for railway enthusiasts, families, or excursion guests – this experience is unique in the region!

Overview of the Nostalgia Weekend

Saturday, July 4, 2025 – Linz Local Railway (LILO)
Historical feeder train Eferding - Waizenkirchen - Niederspaching
Shuttle services with historic trains between Waizenkirchen - Niederspaching and Prambachkirchen - Bad Weinberg from approximately 10 AM to 3 PM
Vehicle exhibition and information stand at Waizenkirchen station

Sunday, July 5, 2026 – Vorchdorferbahn & Traunseetram
Local Railway Lambach – Vorchdorf-Eggenberg
Three train pairs with the historic ET 24.101, built in 1931, and a vehicle exhibition at Vorchdorf-Eggenberg station
Local Railway Gmunden – Vorchdorf
Two shuttle trains on narrow gauge between Vorchdorf and Eisengattern with the former "Swiss" ET 23.112, built in 1954

Here’s how to reach the nostalgia rides around Vorchdorf in the Traunsee-Almtal region:

We recommend traveling by public transport!

By train: Via Attnang-Puchheim station to Gmunden station. Numerous connections from Attnang-Puchheim station to the main traffic trains on the Westbahn line (Line 101) or via Gmunden to the Salzkammergutbahn towards Bad Ischl, Hallstatt, and Bad Aussee.
From Gmunden or Gmunden Engelhof, take the Traunsee Tram (Line 161) from Stern & Hafferl to Vorchdorf-Eggenberg station.
From Wels to Lambach on the Westbahn line (Line 101), connections to main traffic trains to Linz, Vienna, or Salzburg. From Lambach station, take the Vorchdorferbahn (Line 160) to Vorchdorf-Eggenberg station.

By bicycle:
Vorchdorf-Eggenberg station is also very accessible by bicycle.
From Gmunden along the Traunseetram to Vorchdorf, with connections in Gmunden to cycling routes:
Traunvierteltour, R4 Traunradweg, and R2 Salzkammergutradweg.
From Lambach, there is a cycling route to Vorchdorf, with connections in Lambach to cycling routes:
R4 Traunradweg and R6 Römerradweg.

By car:
Westautobahn A1 from Vienna/Linz or Salzburg - Exit A1 Vorchdorf - Vorchdorf station
A9 motorway from Passau or Graz to Voralpenkreuz, then A1 to Vorchdorf exit
Or drive to Gmunden Ost to the P&R facility Engelhof and continue from there with the Traunseetram.

Parking:
We recommend using the P&R facility Engelhof in Gmunden.
In Vorchdorf, there are a few parking spaces near the station, and additional parking at the event center Kitzmantelfabrik.
Please only use the designated parking spaces and respect private property!
