German Mill Day - Raußmühle Eppingen

The Eppingen Raußmühle can be visited on Whit Monday from 1 PM to 6 PM. The German Mill Day takes place annually on Whit Monday, which in 2025 will be on June 9. On this day, people are to be made aware of the significance of the forgotten craft of milling. The second public day of 2026 will take place at the Raußmühle on German Mill Day. The Raußmühle will be open for visits from 1 PM to 6 PM, with short guided tours of the mill area including the water wheel and light refreshments. There will be a large book flea market featuring works from the Dähling Library, as well as small and possibly larger rarities from the Dähling collection. Everything is available for a donation to support the preservation of the historic Raußmühle.

Raußmühle: The classic mill complex with its various residential and agricultural buildings is a living Gesamtkunstwerk that reconstructs and makes tangible the intricate relationships between humans, animals, plants, and landscapes. It was first mentioned in 1334. Particularly well-known beyond the region are the collections of the archive on the history of rural life, which range from mouse traps from the Middle Ages to the present, malting sacks, and board chairs to locks and keys. A translocated smoke kitchen from the Uhland family provides a lasting impression of simple medieval life.
