In 2026, Heinz aus Wien will celebrate their 30th anniversary on stage. The first concert took place in June 1996 at the Wiener Sommer-Arena, as the supporting act for the German band Selig. However, the band was already founded in 1995. Thus, the gentlemen plan to return to the place where Heinz aus Wien first saw the light of the live music world in 2025.

In 1995, the musical landscape in Austria was quite different. The Schröders had the only German-language #1 hit in the Austria Top 40 with "Lass uns schmutzig Liebe machen," The Kelly Family brought shining eyes to some and bleeding ears to others with "An Angel," and "Cotton Eye Joe" by Rednex caused strange movements on dance floors across the country. And then there were these four young men who knew each other from the Vienna indie music scene and decided to make music together, just for fun, using German lyrics instead of the English ones they had previously performed. During the day, they worked their day jobs, and in the evenings, they met in the studio, wrote songs, and recorded them right away. One thing led to another, and not only did they have a band named Heinz, but a year later they also landed an international record deal. And that was just the beginning.

Since then, countless highway kilometers, numerous concerts in almost every corner of the Central European German-speaking universe, several record deals, many collaborations – yes, even with a federal president – and numerous albums have come their way. It can be said with confidence: they have joyfully accompanied the times with their music.

And today, they are still around. Four friends who enjoy making music together and occasionally still take the stage to do what they have always done: to excite their live audience to the point of exhaustion. So, Heinz aus Wien continues on.
