Seminar "Mushrooms in the Graz Area"

Mushroom Foraging and Identification: A practical mushroom seminar in Graz, where participants will discover the autumn mushrooms of the Graz mixed forests under expert guidance. After an introductory session, we will head out together to collect mushrooms, and the findings will be used to create a labeled mushroom exhibition that invites close observation and photography. In the afternoon, Dr. Uwe Kozina and Gernot Friebes MSc (both from the Working Group on Native Fungi at the Universalmuseum Joanneum) will present the collected species, explaining identification features, toxicity, edibility, and the ecological significance of the mushrooms. The event combines practical foraging with solid expert knowledge and provides space for questions.

Please bring:
- A basket or similar container
- A pocket knife
- A magnifying glass (if available)
- Weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear
- No plastic bags

Important notes:
- Dogs are not allowed.
- Cash payment on site is not possible.
- In case of bad weather, the forest school may be canceled for safety reasons.
