The Raft of the Medusa - Multi Art Performance

The innovative light and sound symphony by the native Styrian combines a musical live performance featuring a large percussion and choir ensemble with synchronized video installations to create a bombastic total work of art. The world premiere at the Graz "Dom im Berg" takes place in an exceptionally fitting location: The hall evokes the dark interior of a ship's hull, thereby atmospherically emphasizing the abyssal mood of the piece.

Gessner-Lipp's work offers a performance of international caliber to a broad audience. The performance consists of a roughly one-and-a-half-hour percussion show in five movements, featuring a large live ensemble of percussion instruments and choir, complemented by cinematic sound effects. Artistic video projections on a large-format LED curved screen accompany the dramatic action in sync with the music, merging time, space, sound, and image into a powerful multisensory whole.
