Growing up mentally healthy – an increasing challenge for children and adolescents.
The lecture provides an overview of the current situation regarding the mental health of young people in Austria compared to international standards. It addresses common mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, eating disorders, as well as problematic media use and addiction. Using warning signs and case studies, parents, teachers, and caregivers will receive concrete guidance: When are clear boundaries needed, and when is professional support necessary? Practical tips for communicating with children and adolescents, as well as information on available support services, will round off the evening. Following the lecture, there will be a discussion and an open Q&A session.
