One of the biggest highlights in the event calendar of the ZweiTälerLand is the popular "Easter Village Oberprechtal." This year, the spa town of Oberprechtal in the Black Forest invites visitors for the 21st time, showcasing its beauty starting on Palm Sunday, March 29, 2026. Visitors can enjoy the first signs of spring while strolling through the Easter-decorated village. Many diligent helpers have been working for weeks to present the village in its Easter splendor. There are various fun games and interactive stations for children in the spa park, such as a wooden memory game or a tactile station. Giant Easter bunnies greet guests at the entrances to the village. Handcarts and wheelbarrows are filled with colorful Easter eggs and stand alongside many Easter bunnies, hens, and other Easter motifs in the spa park. Lovingly arranged flower displays create a spring atmosphere.
Delicious treats for the palate and ears
Traditionally, the Easter village is opened on Palm Sunday, March 29, 2026, in the festival hall. Starting at 11:30 AM, guests will be musically welcomed by the local traditional costume band. The local restaurateurs from Café-Pension Endehof, Gasthaus zum Schützen, Schäck's Adler, ElzLand Hotel Pfauen, and Landgasthof Rössle will spoil visitors with culinary delights for lunch.
Giant Easter cake
A must-have this year is the giant Easter cake! For all sweet tooth enthusiasts, it’s an absolute highlight. You can enjoy it in the festival hall with a cup of coffee. At the festival grounds, visitors will be well taken care of by the Narrenzunft, the ski club, FSV Oberprechtal, and the local Red Cross with fries, grilled sausages, currywurst, wedges, striebli, and waffles. A glass of sparkling wine or punch at the tourism working group’s stand perfectly complements the Easter ambiance.
Creative and diverse: Easter market and children's program
Stroll through the former schoolhouse over the colorful Easter market with its lovingly designed market stalls. From jewelry to wooden decorations, gemstones, toys, and flowers to spirits and fine cheese, regional exhibitors present handmade goods and delicacies. A delight for young and old is the ride through the village on the bunny train. Additionally, the Black Forest Association will set up a workshop for children to build nesting boxes for birds together. The DLRG will provide delicious chocolate-covered fruits for the kids. If the weather is nice, jumping on the bouncy castle is a huge fun for all kids.
Due to limited parking, the organizers strongly recommend arriving by bus and train. Public transport will take visitors from Elzach train station to the Easter village Oberprechtal at the church stop. Return departures are from the post stop. Departures from Elzach station hourly (Bus 260): 11:15 AM | 12:15 PM | 1:15 PM | 2:15 PM. Departures from Oberprechtal Post hourly: 1:54 PM | 2:54 PM | 3:54 PM | 4:54 PM.
Worthwhile visit to the Easter village during Holy Week until Easter
Even after Palm Sunday, during Holy Week from March 30 to April 3, 2026, local associations, school classes, and altar servers will sell coffee and cake or waffles, drinks, and on some days grilled sausages in the hut at the festival grounds (wooden hut at the festival grounds near the hall) in the afternoons and over the Easter holidays from Good Friday to Easter Monday. On Easter Sunday and Monday, local restaurateurs look forward to pampering guests in cozy dining rooms with delicious Easter menus (reservation recommended!). The terraces of cafés and hotels are perfect for relaxing while enjoying a fine coffee specialty and a piece of cake. The Easter village is open for visits daily and regardless of the weather until Sunday, April 12, 2026, making it worthwhile for an excursion to the upper Elztal.
