Macbeth - Dance Piece based on William Shakespeare

"Macbeth" is one of Shakespeare's shortest plays, but it is filled to the brim with action and drama. The tragic hero receives a prophecy after a victorious battle, revealing to him the opportunity for power. From then on, all rules are suspended, and the impossible becomes possible. The elements of the play are drawn into darkness, and the anarchic emergence of new spaces for action leads to the abyss. What the witches predict at the beginning turns out to be a destructive illusion by the end. Shakespeare's bloodiest royal drama – atmospherically staged with the visual imagination of contemporary dance. A live jazz fusion ensemble provides the musical undercurrent for the subtly analyzing choreography.
