On old paths from Retz to Znaim

The Czech and Austrian Tourist Club, in collaboration with the municipality of Retz, is organizing a cross-border spring hike from Retz to Znaim. The Thayatal National Park is participating with a guided tour.
Starting from the wine town of Retz, we will hike with National Park ranger Eva Sprung and ÖTK chairman Anton Trauner through the wine and hilly landscape towards Znaim. We will cross the formerly heavily guarded border at the Holy Stone in Mitterretzbach and follow the path through small South Moravian villages, eventually reaching Znaim, the impressive "City of Towers," via the heathland of Kuhberg. To conclude, we will enjoy a joint lunch.
Meeting point: 8:30 AM at the main square in Retz (town hall), return by train from Znaim
Duration: approx. 7 hours
No participation fee, passport required.
Registration by 3:00 PM the day before.
