Of old border defense structures

Merkersdorf 90, 2082 Hardegg
Under the guidance of French military advisors, Czechoslovakia built a bunker line along its state border in 1936. These bunkers can still be seen today in the Národní park Podyjí and are being restored with great dedication by a local association.
Together with the defensive structures of the customs houses, they are the focus of an excursion led by Jan Lakosil, a historian and military expert on the interwar period of the former Czechoslovakia.
Meeting point: Thaya Bridge Hardegg
Duration: approx. 4 hours
Cost: Adults € 17,-
Registration by 3:00 PM the day before, passport required. Bilingual excursion (D/CZ).
