The church is ready for the big screen!

The clarinet ensemble Merulea and the vocal trio Dreiklang invite you to a special joint concert evening on February 14, 2026, at 7:00 PM: in various formations, they will present small and large film music hits. The Göttingen organist Gerd Bergemann will also join as a soloist at the organ. Under the motto "Church is ready for the movies!", the musicians will joyfully take you into the world of film music. Let yourself be enchanted by the music that gives depth and emotion to moving images, allowing us to both soar and weep or laugh. The instrumental possibilities of the clarinet ensemble, the vocal sensitivity of the singing trio, and the unbridled power of the organ offer a wide range of interpretations that make the well-known hits surprisingly vibrant and not always entirely unchanged. However, this is not just an ordinary concert. To provide a special atmosphere, Ernst-Ulrich Göttges will guide you through the evening and the history of film with much wit and charm. A unique ambiance will be created by the lighting of the church, tailored to each piece. The program features melodies from various genres of film music, from the witty and lively "Mit nem kleen Stückchen Glück" from "My Fair Lady" to action-packed James Bond hits and the fantastical-epic "Who Wants to Live Forever" from "Highlander."
