Beer – a cultural beverage with a history stretching back thousands of years

In keeping with the special exhibition, which runs from April 1 to November 1, guests on the "Beer – a centuries-old cult drink" adventure tour will embark on an archaeological search for clues relating to beer.  Beer history up close On this guided tour, participants will learn everything there is to know about the history of liquid gold: What do we know today about beer brewing among the Celts? Were there beer goddesses and sacred drinks? Which types and flavors were popular among the Celts? The 90-minute tour offers exciting insights and ends with a sparkling taste experience. Special exhibition on the subject of beer Beer is one of the oldest beverages in the world. Its history dates back to ancient Egypt. The Celts also enjoyed this popular drink, although it tasted and was prepared differently than it does today. The exhibition takes visitors on a journey through the long history of beer and its significance for the Celts of Heuneburg – Stadt Pyrene. They will learn more about the cult drink as a sacred beverage, about beer goddesses, how it was prepared, and the different varieties that existed in the past. The exhibition will be on display until November 1, 2026.
