Three ♭ – whether in E-flat major or C minor – solemn-heroic, or perhaps deeply sad-pathetic. Humanistic ideals, Freemason ideologies, values of the French Revolution – a multitude of symbols and hidden musical messages. Societal and political, the works in this program exist within a vast field of tension: between Enlightenment and Restoration, reason and emotion, power and humanity. At the same time, they rank among the greatest masterpieces produced by this era.

Anniversary concert and a new beginning
With "JKO plays Power and Humanity," the JungeKünsteOrchester celebrates its seven-year anniversary – and simultaneously the start of a new chapter. Under the direction of the young, rising conductor Tobias Treitner, the JungeKünsteOrchester is increasingly establishing itself as a young Viennese ensemble. This young professional orchestra combines youthful enthusiasm with instrumental excellence and impresses not only with its stylistic versatility but also with its sensitivity to tonal nuances. Over the past six years, the Wiener Ehrbar Saal has increasingly become the musical home of the JungeKünsteOrchester, providing a timeless ambiance for this concert.

Listening in, feeling in, immersing oneself
The carefully curated programs invite the audience each time, under the guise of a new theme, on a journey. Each introductory talk before the concert offers the opportunity to hear and feel the music anew through insights between the lines of the score, thus allowing for a deeper understanding of the composer and his time.

Tried and tested, yet no less inspiring
With pianist Sophie Druml and Tobias Treitner, a tried-and-true team of soloist and conductor continues their inspiring collaboration. In addition to Beethoven's third piano concerto and his choral fantasy, their partnership and artistic understanding of each other are also shaped by numerous joint chamber music concerts. Together, they now venture into the pinnacle of Beethoven's concertante works with Beethoven's fifth piano concerto.

Masterpieces that are unparalleled
With the first three chords of Mozart's "The Magic Flute" overture, a world filled with wisdom, revenge, and love unfolds for the audience. The plot and music are rife with Masonic symbols. Since its premiere in 1791, "The Magic Flute" has become one of the most performed operas in the German-speaking world. Beethoven's fifth symphony is not only legendary but arguably the most famous symphony of Beethoven. With the “shaking of the chains” of a hero trapped in his time, Beethoven gradually frees himself from the strictures of the Viennese imperial court, culminating in the final movement of the symphony with hymns of the French Revolution.

Young excellence. Viennese sound. New visions.
The JungeKünsteOrchester.
