Barbara Blaha

Barbara Blaha knows what she is talking about. Growing up as a child of a working-class family with many siblings but little money, she understands the feeling of being overlooked. Her previous stage programs have been an overwhelming success: thousands have already seen her, with many performances sold out.

In her new program "Funkenschwestern" and the book of the same name, she combines personal stories with numbers, facts, and studies, demonstrating why economic questions are always feminist questions as well. She makes visible why women are less often allowed to lead, are interrupted more frequently, and are paid less. She points out that in industries with a high percentage of women, wages decrease, and even a full-time job does not protect against the second unpaid shift at home.
