Medieval Festival

Experience ancient crafts up close How was work done a thousand years ago? What technical tools were used to construct Salzburg's landmark? And which craftsmen could be found at the fortress back then? During the two-day medieval festival, visitors have the opportunity to experience many traditional crafts. Turners, papermakers, masons, painters, blacksmiths, stonemasons, potters, and beekeepers will provide exciting insights into their craftsmanship and invite participation during their demonstrations. A day for the whole family In addition, there is a colorful program for both big and small guests. Visitors can showcase their skills in medieval games. From horseshoe throwing to stilt walking, there will be plenty of activities that were already fun a thousand years ago. Additionally, there will be daily fencing demonstrations, a storyteller, puppeteers, two music groups, and much more. The castle tavern and fortress restaurant will provide refreshments for visitors, featuring their historic rooms and stunning panoramic views over the old town and mountains.
