The 950-year history of Hohensalzburg Fortress is often reduced to the medieval period, overlooking the fact that it was always used for military purposes until its tourist utilization in the 20th century. This special tour focuses primarily on the time after the Napoleonic Wars, when Salzburg became part of Austria through various means, and the fortress was used as a barracks and base for the Rainer Regiment.
