Monti Beton & Hans Krankl - Christmas Classics Extravaganza

For 20 years, this successful program by the legendary Rapid player Hans Krankl and the Vienna cult band MONTI BETON has been regularly performed in numerous sold-out concert halls across Austria. The musical concert arc spans from well-known American and English song gems to hits and rarities. It is touching and also cheerful when the "Goleador" Johann K. (Hans Krankl) reads a few letters from children around the world from the little book "Dear Santa Claus." The Christmas Classics Extravaganza represents a brilliant compilation of the best Christmas songs of our time. The show is bursting with good vibes and the spirit of the Christmas season, and the Viennese charm is in full swing. Merry Christmas, Mele Kaliki Maka, and Feliz Navidad are the wishes from MONTI BETON and Johann K. to all guests of the Wiener Neustadt Kasematten.

There are hardly any bands in Europe that dedicate themselves as intensely to the cultivation of elevated rock and pop music—without acting as a typical cover band—as the Vienna-based group MONTI BETON. Specifically, the band has been primarily focusing for over 40 years on artists or groups that are no longer seen live, yet whose music is now considered contemporary. MONTI BETON consistently manages to connect with the roots of this music and its artists, thereby conveying the greatest possible message of the original without imitating it, but rather interpreting it in the typical MONTI BETON style—humorously entertaining.

In July 2025, Johann K. and Monti Beton celebrated their joint 20th stage anniversary with a unique event at the sold-out Vienna State Opera.
