Singing for joy, everything, the sorrow fades away. With Anjanita - vocals, Edda Kathrein - dance, Stefan Bärthlein - guitar, Michael Navarro - guitar, tin whistle, Marta Roverato - dance. Duration approximately 80 minutes. When singing, guitar, and dance come together in the life-affirming Alegría - a classic Flamenco style that carries joy in its name - the stage transforms into a magical space where sorrow and heaviness dissolve in the rhythm of life. Everything (toíta) melts away into joy - the deeply moving and also permitted heaviness in Flamenco makes way for lightness and elation. With their fifth program, El Cuadro brings this to life: Cante (song), Toque (guitar), and Baile (dance) intertwine in a dialogue that captivates both heart and senses. The small theater serves as more than just a performance venue - its intimate atmosphere inside the Capuchin Mountain recalls the Cuevas (caves) in Guadix or Granada, where Flamenco has been lived for centuries. ¡Vamos allá!
As a special highlight of this concert evening, Flamenco dancer Marta Roverato will make a brief guest appearance; simultaneously, the internationally sought-after artist is leading a Flamenco dance workshop in Salzburg this weekend, focusing on Alegría. Born in Padua, she trained in classical dance, contemporary dance, and Flamenco in Italy, Germany, and Spain, and began her professional career in 1994 at the Teatro Ivan Zajic in Rijeka. As a soloist, she has performed on renowned stages worldwide. Since 2012, she has been the founder of the cultural association Duendarte in Padua and the artistic director of the Meridiani Paralleli Festival.
