FIRST CLASS
"First Class" is the original meaning of the Latin word "classicus." And hardly anything fits this title as well as the composers of the Viennese Classical period. And the royal discipline of chamber music, the string quartet. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Ludwig van Beethoven present such first-class works in this then still new genre that generations of composers have followed in their footsteps - including Fanny Mendelssohn.
