Four decades in the service of music: Singer-songwriter Chris Watzik celebrates 40 years on stage

The Styrian musician, singer, and guitarist Chris Watzik is celebrating a milestone this year: he has been performing on stages in Austria and beyond for 40 years. What began in 1985 has developed into a multifaceted career that has encompassed genres such as rock, pop, and funk, ultimately culminating in Austropop. Initially performing as a solo artist, Chris Watzik founded the singer-songwriter band "SOLOzuVIERT" in 2009, with which he toured for 11 years and released 5 albums. After the band's dissolution in 2020, the Styrian artist released a new solo album and has since been touring again with his own band. The 40th anniversary is an occasion for Watzik to reflect and look forward: "Four decades on stage means countless stories, encounters, and of course, a lot of music. The anniversary program (….and he is still a loudmouth) is a mix of well-known songs as well as new, yet-to-be-released tracks. Of course, it always includes fun, joy, charm, and wit."
