The trio AEON invites you on a musical journey through English song art from the Renaissance to the 20th century. The selected composers uniquely shaped the soundscape of their respective eras and showcase the extraordinary diversity of English art song. Works by J. Dowland, H. Purcell, R. V. Williams, and B. Britten span the spectrum from early, simple song forms to folk songs and fully composed art songs. Through the interplay of flute, harp, and voice, the trio AEON creates its own sound world, in which the program is reinterpreted and illuminated.
