A nature park in the northern Waldviertel transforms into a magical place of wonder and discovery!
The ninth edition of the light art festival BLOCKHEIDE LEUCHTET particularly focuses on the fascination with natural phenomena and experimenting with them. Amidst the forest, meadows, ponds, and rock formations of the Blockheide, visitors are invited to embark on a quiet adventure: selected light artworks from around the world create a very special atmosphere in the heart of nature. Numerous installations encourage exploration and experimentation, illuminating, quite literally, physical wonders.
In between, there are places to sit and linger, allowing art and nature to take effect.
Performers and musicians move mindfully through the Blockheide, offering attentive observers performances of gentle elegance. And in a hidden spot behind imposing granite remnants, a storyteller awaits to share touching, enchanting, and even humorous tales.
Nature enthusiasts, art lovers, adventure seekers, and those in search of peace—whether young or old—the BLOCKHEIDE LEUCHTET Festival has something to amaze everyone. Regional beverages and lovingly prepared dishes ensure that everyone is well catered for.

The festival opens its gates at 7:30 PM each of the four days. Thus, the audience is invited to stroll through the softly illuminated nature park from sunset onwards, discovering artwork after artwork for themselves. Each visit becomes a unique audiovisual experience, and each person experiences their own BLOCKHEIDE LEUCHTET. No day is like the other!
To ensure the quality of the event as well as nature conservation, visitor numbers are limited. The limited tickets are available in advance.
