Opening of the Semriach Hiking Season

On April 19, the hiking season in Schöcklland in Styria will kick off in Semriach. The meeting point is at 9:00 AM at the Gasthaus Häuserl im Wald in Semriach/Schönegg. There, a freshly prepared egg dish breakfast awaits, perfect for an active morning in nature. After that, a leisurely family hike will take place around Eichberg. The paths are easily walkable and offer wide views over meadows, forests, and farms. Step by step, the landscape reveals its tranquil side – just as one knows it in the Graz experience region.

Along the way, you will find the "Landniederlassung" in Semriach. The museum showcases agricultural tools, old implements, and tractors. Many stations tell stories of farm work and the lives of previous generations. A short break allows time to look around and catch your breath.

The return route passes by the Lurgrotte Semriach, a well-known natural monument in Styria. After that, it’s back to the starting point at the Gasthaus Häuserl im Wald in Semriach.
