Balloon race

On Friday, April 24, 2026, the first large charity balloon race organized by the Vorarlberg Family Association will take place at the Kornmarktplatz in Bregenz – a colorful family festival full of joy, community, and surprises. As part of this spectacle, a big family celebration will be held at the Kornmarktplatz featuring a bouncy castle, a goal wall, and many other attractions. There, all participants will release their balloons together into the sky. Everyone can attach a small message on a card and send it off with the balloon on its journey. The balloons that are found the farthest away, and whose finders report back to the family association, will win great prizes. Our trial run has shown how far a balloon can fly: the current record is around 150 km – from Bregenz to Augsburg. All proceeds will benefit the Vorarlberg Family Association and will go directly to the charity projects of the association. Important: Both the balloons and the strings, as well as the attached cards, are 100% biodegradable and environmentally friendly. We place great importance on this.
