Discover the biodiversity of Gobelsburger Heide - The LANIUS Association and the municipality of Langenlois invite you to a lecture and excursions in spring 2026. Gobelsburger Heide is part of the European protected area "Kamp and Kremstal." Due to the special significance of this habitat, the protected area management of Lower Austria is planning a project for the restoration and maintenance of dry grasslands, building on already implemented measures. Overgrown areas will be cleared, and where possible and sensible, will be preserved in the long term through gentle sheep grazing. Numerous characteristic species, such as the large cowbell, the sail butterfly, the emerald lizard, and the hoopoe, will benefit from this.
In addition to this event, on May 16, 2026, there will be an event called "Spring Experiences on Gobelsburger Heide," featuring information, guided tours, and culinary delights (weather permitting, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM; details and exact meeting point will be announced later). During this event, nature experts will guide participants through various areas of Gobelsburger Heide and provide insights into the biodiversity, particularly that of butterflies, the birdlife along the Kamp River, and the botanical treasures of the area. Nature enthusiasts will also have the opportunity to learn about the activities of LANIUS and enjoy regional wines and delicacies.
