Staged history - a journey back in time

#### The team from the Beuren Open Air Museum Association invites you on a fascinating journey back in time. In short, changing scenes, amateur actors convey all kinds of information about selected museum houses, their history, and their former residents. The scene in front of the house from Öschelbronn (Böblingen district) takes us back to 1926. Johann Martin Bühler, a wealthy farmer and former mayor of the community, has just been buried. In front of the house, the audience meets Pastor Karl Haug, the Bühler family's maid, and several mourners who talk about the life and work of the deceased. This sometimes leads to comical scenes. In 1927, master carpenter Karl Walz from Ohmenhausen (Reutlingen district) is the talk of the town with the introduction of electricity in the Walz household. While the master carpenter is out making a delivery, his carpenter's apprentice is left to hold the fort. But suddenly he not only has to deal with the trade inspectorate, but also has to satisfy the wishes of his fiancée. Will he be able to handle this situation? In front of the weaver's house from Laichingen (Alb-Donau district), visitors can gain an insight into the everyday life of weavers in 1835 and 1853, when complicated family constellations and social norms as well as poverty and infant mortality were dominant themes. The two scenes offer different perspectives on everyday life as it may have been in a domestic weaving mill almost 200 years ago.
