Played History - Time Travel to the Past

#### The Team Played History of the Friends of the Open-Air Museum Beuren invites you on a fascinating journey back in time. In short, changing scenes, amateur actors convey various information about selected museum houses, their history, and the former residents. The scene in front of the house from Öschelbronn (Böblingen district) takes us to the year 1926. Johann Martin Bühler, a wealthy farmer and former mayor of the community, has just been buried. In front of the house, the audience encounters Pastor Karl Haug, the Bühler's maid, and some mourners who share stories about the life and work of the deceased. This sometimes leads to comedic moments. In the workshop of master carpenter Karl Walz from Ohmenhausen (Reutlingen district), the introduction of electricity in the Walz household is the talk of the town in 1927. While the master makes a delivery, his carpenter's apprentice is left to hold down the fort alone. But suddenly, he finds himself dealing not only with the trade supervision but also with the wishes of his fiancée. Will he manage this situation? In front of the weaver's house from Laichingen (Alb-Donau district), visitors can expect an insight into the weaver's daily life in the years 1835 and 1853, where complicated family dynamics, societal norms, poverty, and child mortality are dominant themes. The two scenes offer different perspectives on daily life as it may have unfolded in the domestic weaving industry nearly 200 years ago.
