**Start/End: Reilingen; exact meeting point to be provided upon registration.** The Schwetzinger Hardt is a forested area between Schwetzingen, Walldorf, and Hockenheim. It is the largest regional forest reserve in Baden-Württemberg. What makes it truly special is the combination of rare, glacial inland dunes with nutrient-poor sandy soils. On this tour through the Schwetzinger Hardt, we’ll encounter unique habitats. Specialized species of flora and fauna inhabit the drifting sand dunes we’ll encounter in Sandhausen and Oftersheim. The deadwood in the protected forest also serves as a habitat for countless species. Both are currently being “artificially” shaped through significant effort.
