Maestro Riccardo Muti, honorary member of the Musikverein Graz since February 2025, returns to the Stefaniensaal with the Vienna Philharmonic. During the concerts in February 2025, he expressed his enthusiasm for the Stefaniensaal and the Musikverein Graz, exclaiming: "Grazie Graz"! The famous "London Symphonies" by Joseph Haydn, Nos. 102, 103, and 104, will be performed. A special highlight: after the concert, the Vienna Philharmonic will be awarded honorary membership in public, in recognition of their connection to the Musikverein Graz over the past eight decades. The traditional orchestra has given a total of 24 concerts at the Musikverein since 1946, conducted by world-renowned conductors such as Josef Krips, Dimitri Mitropoulos, honorary member Karl Böhm, Claudio Abbado, James Levine, Christian Thielemann, Zubin Mehta, Franz Welser-Möst, and honorary member Riccardo Muti. In the future, the Vienna Philharmonic will be even more closely connected to Graz, further highlighting the significance of the cultural region of Styria within the international music world.
