Whether linguistically virtuosic, rhythmically rhymed, politically relevant, or simply incredibly funny – the pop literature format of Poetry Slam thrives on diversity and interaction between the stage and the audience. The rules are quite simple: self-written texts are presented within a time limit of five minutes, and props and costumes are not allowed. The audience acts as the jury and decides who ultimately wins – and in any case, they celebrate the spoken word!

On Friday, June 26, 2026, this successful format will finally celebrate its premiere at the Kulturbühne dakig in Gänserndorf as part of the WEIN/4 Festival 2026!

High-profile figures from the Lower Austrian slam scene, such as Elena Sarto, Henning, BraVe, and many more, will shine in the lineup, which will be complemented by an open list: people from the Weinviertel are also invited to contribute their own texts to gain initial stage experience and find their own voice. To prepare for this, a Poetry Slam workshop will be offered in advance, where creative writing and confident performing will be professionally guided.

Look forward to shattered rhyme chains, pointed punchlines, and stories that touch the soul. An exciting program full of emotions, entertainment, and plenty of wordplay awaits you, suitable for young and old alike. The evening will be hosted by spoken word artist Katharina Wenty and beatbox poet Basquel!
