Leave The Future Behind - Exhibition Parov Stelar - Salzkammergut Festival Weeks Gmunden

Marcus Füreder, globally known as Parov Stelar, is one of the most successful Austrian artists of his generation. Between studio and stage, canvas and dance floor, he creates a multifaceted cosmos of art, sound, and emotion. For him, painting is a spontaneous impulse reaction - a dialogue with chance. Digital designs transform into vibrant oil compositions that evolve in the process until a painting "looks back" at him, and he knows: it is complete. Painting serves as his counterbalance to music, the tactile to the digital world. "I paint, therefore I am," he says - painting as an existential confession. His works reflect a closeness to pop art from Warhol to Lichtenstein, while simultaneously revealing inner struggles, fears, and longings - visual psychograms of a seeker between sound and color. The native of Upper Austria studied painting in Linz and Berlin, exhibited large-format, autobiographically influenced works at the Francisco Carolinum in 2021, and shows: Parov Stelar is constantly reinventing himself - between beat and brushstroke, euphoria and melancholy. The exhibition is opened by Prof. Dr. Klaus Albrecht Schröder, General Director of the Albertina and CEO of the Vienna Actionism Museum.
