In the year 1 after POSTCITY, the Ars Electronica Festival is reinventing itself. Instead of a central festival location, the five-day event will turn the city center of Linz into both a stage and a forum for art, technology, and society. Three major hubs and a number of other event locations will be utilized, and new formats will be developed. Thematically, the festival is dedicated to the annual focus "The Future Begins," but it is complemented by the subtitle "Negotiating Humanity." At its core, it is about taking stock and the question of what it means to be human today.
