THREADS. A participatory adaptation of the textile history of Vorarlberg in six scenes.

The official history of Vorarlberg attributes the region's current prosperity to the early textile industry and emphasizes the work and diligence that enabled this rise. This narrative overlooks the interconnectedness of the cotton trade and the trade of enslaved people, as well as the "guest work" of Turkish workers.

Building on the documentary film "Stoff" (pooldoks 2025) and the exhibition "Òwú. Fil. Faden. Thread. The Interwoven History of Textiles, Trade, and Colonial Legacies" (Vorarlberg Museum), the project "FÄDEN" invites citizens to contribute knowledge about the textile history of Vorarlberg. Our engagement follows the scenically representational method of sociodrama, which is used as a creative research method.
