The Martin Listabarth Trio presents its new program "In Her Footsteps" as part of its Album Release Tour 2026, released by the German label o-tone music. The album tells the extraordinary life story of the Viennese world traveler Ida Pfeiffer, musically realized in compositions dedicated to the various stages of her life. The music combines modern jazz with influences from classical and pop – somewhere between Tigran Hamasyan, Brahms, and Radiohead – with a strong focus on storytelling and melody. The Viennese jazz pianist Martin Listabarth, recently nominated for the Austrian Jazz Award 2025 (Best Newcomer), has established a reputation as a distinctive voice of Austrian jazz with a clear artistic vision through concerts and festival appearances across Europe. Together with Gidi Kalchhauser (bass) and Sebastian Simsa (drums), a direct, narrative trio sound emerges, ranging from lyrical moments to powerful passages. "In Her Footsteps" is the trio's third album, following "Postcards" (2023) and "Live in Vienna" (2025), and forms the centerpiece of their Album Release Tour 2026.
